Honesty is the best policy

Honesty is truthfulness in terms of both words and deeds. An honest man always say what is right, behaves in a truthful manner, never pretending to feel what he does not feel. He has tendency to say plainly, just using curt replies indsicrimininative of likes or dislikes and to who he is talking. Dispite his weakness in social dealing, he always keeps his promises.

It is said " Honesty pays". However, there are many people who do not think so. They will say that there have been a lot of instances in which dishonest people are enjoying prosperity. In fact, they are not aware of how people of this type will one day suffer from the consequences arising from their misdeeds cheating, deceiving and swimdling. It is very worrying that theu may repent only when it is too late.

It is daind ''Honesty is the best policy''. However, honest people rarely mind whether honesty pays or not. They try to be honest just because they believe that being dishonest affects their image, integrity and personality.

က်မတို႕အဖြဲ႕ဟာ သြားေရာက္လွဴဒါန္းဖို႕ စီစဥ္ခဲ့တာ အရင္တစ္ပတ္ကတည္းကပါ။ သြားၾကတဲ့ရက္ကေတာ့ ၂၉.၆.၂၀၀၈ ရက္ေန႕ပါ။ ည၂နာရီခြဲမွာ အိပ္ရာမွ ထလို႕ လူစုထားတဲ့ ေနရာကို ၄နာရီအေရာက္သြားခဲ့ပါတယ္။ လူစုံတာနဲ႕ အထုပ္အပိုးမ်ား၊ လွဴဖြယ္ပစၥညး္မ်ားကို ကားေပၚမွာ တင္ေဆာင္ၿပီး နံနက္ ၆နာရီခြဲမွာ ရန္ကုန္ကေန ထြက္ခြာခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ေခါင္းခန္းမွာ ဦးပဇင္း ႏွစ္ပါးလည္း လုိက္ပါလာပါတယ္။ လႈိင္သာယာ ဘုရင့္ေနာင္တံတားမွ ျဖတ္လို႕ ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕မွ ထြက္ခြာေတာ့ ရာသီဥတုက မိုးေဖ်ာက္ေတာက ္ ေဖ်ာက္ေတာက္ေပါ့။ ၿပီးရင္ သည္းလိုက္ ျပန္တိပ္လုိက္ပါ။ အဲဒီ့ေနာက္မွာ ေတာင္ပိုင္းခ႐ိုင္ ျဖစ္တဲ့ ေကာ့မွဴး၊ ကြမ္းျခံကုန္း ၿမိဳ႕တို႕ကို ျဖတ္ေက်ာ္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ လမ္းခရီးတစ္ေလွ်ာက္မွာ ေတာ့ အိ္္မ္ေတာ္ေတာ္မ်ားမ်ားက ျပန္လည္ျပင္ဆင္ထားၿပီး တန္ဖိုးနည္းအိမ္ရာမ်ားကို ေဆာက္လုပ္ထားတာ ေတြ႕ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ေဒးဒရဲၿမိဳ႕ကို ျဖတ္ေတာ့ စက္မႈ(၁)ကေန ဖြင့္လွစ္ထားတဲ့ ၀င္းသူဇာအေရာင္းဆိုင္ေတြကို လညး္ ေတြ႕ခဲ့ရပါတယ္။ လမ္းတံတား အပုိင္းစစ္ေဆးမႈမ်ားကေတာ့ လူဘယ္ႏွစ္ေယာက္ပါလ၊ လွဴဖြယ္ ပစၥည္းခန္႕မွန္း တန္ဖိုးကို သာ ေျပာ႐ံုပါဘဲ၊ လြယ္လြယ္ကူကူပါဘဲ။
အဲဒီေနာက္ က်မတို႕ဟာ ဖ်ာပံုတံတားကို ၁၀နာရီ ၀န္းက်င္မွာ ေရာက္႐ွိလာပါတယ္။ ၿမိဳ႕ေရာက္ေတာ့ စခန္းမွာ မေလးရွား အလွဴအဖြဲ႕ ေရာက္ေနတာကိ ု ကားေပၚမွ ေတြ႕ခဲ့ရပါတယ္။ ဖ်ာပံုေစ်းထဲမွာေတာ့ ေရာင္းသူ၊ ၀ယ္သူ နဲ႕ စည္ကားေနပါတယ္။ ဘုန္းၾကီးေက်ာင္းအခ်ိဳ႕မွာ ပ်က္စီးေနပါတယ္။ ၿမိဳ႕ေပၚကအိမ္ေတြကေတာ့ တိုက္တာကို အမ်ားဆံုးေတြ႕ရပါတယ္၊ အိ္္မ္ေတြက အမ်ားစု ကၽြန္းသား အိမ္သန္႕သန္႕ေလးေတြကို ေတြ႕ရပါတယ္။ ဆိုင္ကယ္ ၊ ဆိုက္ကၠား၊ ကားမ်ားနဲ႕ စည္ကားေနတာ ပဲခူးၿမိဳ႕နယ္နဲ႕ေတာင္ ဆင္တူတယ္လို႕ မွတ္ခ်က္ခ်ခဲ့ပါေသးတယ္။ က်မတို႕အဖြဲ႕ဟာ ၿမိဳ႕ခံအိ္မ္တစ္အိမ္မွာ ကိုယ္လက္ သန္႕စင္ၿပီး ထပ္မံ ခရီး ထြက္ခဲ့ရာ က်မတို႕ သြားေရာက္လွဴဒါန္းမည့္ လက္ပံ႐ြာသို႕ ေရာက္ရန္ အတြက္ စက္ေလွအေသးႏွစ္စင္းကို ငွားၿပီး ေတာ့ ဆက္လက္ ထြက္ခြာလာပါတယ္။ ေလွေပၚမွာ ေမတၱာသုတ္၊ ေမတၱာပို႕ၿပီး ၿပီးေတာ့ ေနာက္မိနစ္၂၀ ၾကာေတာ့ က်မတို႕ လွဴးဒါန္းမည့္႐ြာ လက္ပံ႐ြာသို႕ ၁၁နာရီ မိနစ္ ေလးဆယ္မွာ ေခ်ာေခ်ာေမြ႕ေမြ႕ေရာက္႐ွိခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ျမစ္ကမ္းနားမွာ တည္႐ွိတဲ့ လက္ပံဘုန္းေတာ္ၾကီးေက်ာင္းမွာ လွဴဖြယ္ ပစၥညး္မ်ားကို ခ် ၊ အထုပ္အပိုးေတြယူေဆာင္ၿပီး ေက်ာင္းသို႕ ေရာက္လာပါေတာ့တယ္။ လိုက္ပါလာတဲ့ ကိုယ္ေတာ္မ်ားကို ဆြမ္းကပ္ၿပီး က်မတို႕လည္း အသင့္ပါလာတဲ့ ေန႔လည္စာ ေ႐ႊေခါင္းေျပာင္ရယ္၊ ကိုရဲႏုိင္ခ်က္တဲ့ အမရာ ထမင္းရယ္ ခ်ဥ္ေပါင္ေၾကာ္တို႕နဲ႕ ႏွစ္ပြဲေလာက္ေတာ့ ႏွိပ္ေအာင္စားခ့ဲ့ပါတယ္။ သုတ္သုတ္စားၿပီးေတာ့ ေက်ာင္းေပၚမွာ ကေလးမ်ား အေယာက္ ႏွစ္ရာေက်ာ္က ေနရာယူထားၿပီးျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ေက်ာင္းေပၚကို တက္ေရာက္ၿပီး ဆရာေတာ္ထံမွာ ငါးပါးသီလခံ၊ ေရစက္ခ်ခဲ့ပါတယ္၊ ဒီေက်ာင္းေတာ္မွာဘဲ ကေလးမ်ား အတန္းလိုက္ စာသင္ၾကားၾကျခင္းလညး္ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

REMARKS TO PRESS AT THE HOTEL SEDONA

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for being here. This is a special occasion, in many ways, not least because my visit here is the first of an UN Secretary-General in 44 years. I came here to give the people of Myanmar a message of hope---that the world is watching, and that the world is with you. I must tell you.
Flying over the Irrawaddy delta yesterday, I saw the saddest things: homes and villages destroyed, fields flooded, roads and bridges washed away, so many lives lost. We work hard in our lives, for ourselves and our families. And then, in a moment, it is gone. I am humbled—humbled by the scale of this natural disaster, the worst your country has ever experienced, and humbled by the courage and the resilience of the Myanmar people.
During my visit I heard the most tragic stories. At a refugee camp, villagers told me of the loss of their families, their loved ones, everything they owned. But I also saw homes—and lives—being rebuilt. Life continues. I met a mother, living in a tent, who gave birth to a baby girl only hours before my visit. She was healthy. So is her infant daughter. They have a future. I told them my heart was with them, and to not lose hope. I know they will not, for they have already proved it.
And I told them that I—as well as the international community and the entire UN family—will do everything possible to help. I am encouraged by my discussions with Myanmar's leadership. From all I have seen, the government, with help from the international community, have put in place a functioning relief program. But I told them that more needs to be done. Their efforts need to be reinforced, quickly, by international experts with tested experience in handling emergencies. In this regard, I specifically asked the government to liberalize visa policies and to grant unhindered access to foreign aid experts, and also journalists, so that they can operate freely and effectively throughout Myanmar.
I also asked the government for permission to establish forward logistics bases in the affected areas so as to more efficiently distribute aid and coordinate assistance to those in need. I further requested the government's cooperation in deploying the extra assets needed in such operations—among them transport boats and helicopters. I am happy to report that we have made progress on all these issues. This morning, I had a good meeting with Senior General Than Shwe. He agreed to allow international aid workers into the affected areas, regardless of nationality.
He has taken quite a flexible position on an issue that, until now, has been an obstacle to organizing coordinated and fully effective international aid and assistance operations. He has also agreed that visa issue will be speeded up. The Senior General also agreed that Yangon Airport could be used as a logistical hub for international aid, from which it could be more quickly distributed to those in need. He further agreed that international aid could be delivered to Myanmar via civilian ships and small boats.
I hope all these agreements can produce results quickly. Implementation will be the key. Finally, we have agreed on the kind of effective coordination and consulting mechanisms we need, and we are finalizing the details with ASEAN as well. I warmly welcome ASEAN's leadership. I return to Yangon for the international pledging conference on Sunday, where Myanmar's partners will discuss these matters in greater depth. Our goal will be to focus on the immediate relief efforts, and also to look at the recovery phase which will have to start in parallel.

Cyclone Nargis (also known as Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Nargis) was a strong tropical cyclone that caused the deadliest natural disaster in the recorded history of Myanmar (also known as Burma). The cyclone made landfall in the country on May 2, 2008, causing catastrophic destruction and at least 78,000 fatalities with a further 56,000 people still missing. However, Labutta Township alone was reported to have 80,000 dead and some have estimated the death toll may be well over 100,000.
Nargis is the deadliest named cyclone in the North Indian Ocean Basin, as well as the second deadliest named cyclone of all time, behind Typhoon Nina. Including unnamed storms, Nargis is the 8th deadliest cyclone of all time. Nargis was the first tropical cyclone to strike the country since Cyclone Mala made landfall in 2006.
The cyclone name "Nargis" is an Urdu word meaning daffodil. The first named storm of the 2008 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, Nargis developed on April 27 in the central area of Bay of Bengal. Initially it tracked slowly northwestward and, encountering favorable conditions, it quickly strengthened. Dry air weakened the cyclone on April 29, though after beginning a steady eastward motion Nargis rapidly intensified to attain peak winds of at least 165 km/h (105 mph) on May 2; the Joint Typhoon Warning Center assessed peak winds of 215 km/h (135 mph). The cyclone moved ashore in the Ayeyarwady Division of Myanmar near peak intensity and, after passing near the major city of Yangon (Rangoon), the storm gradually weakened until dissipating near the border of Myanmar and Thailand.
